The Watershed Center

The Watershed Center is a community oriented, not-for-profit organization facilitating conservation education for people in the central Champlain Valley watersheds of the New Haven River, Little Otter Creek, and Lewis Creek.

The purposes of TWC are to:

 

  1. Increase awareness among children and adults of natural systems and ecological principals;
  2. Support efforts to protect, enhance, and restore natural communities;
  3. Examine the nature of sustainability at the local level;
  4. Develop opportunities for economic sustainability in surrounding communities;
  5. Foster shared interest and responsibility for the future among local citizens;
  6. Encourage the use of productive agricultural and forest lands with careful stewardship;
  7. Facilitate cooperative work in surrounding communities;
  8. Encourage greater public participation in civic affairs.
